Van der Valk Hotel Tiel
In 1939, Martien and Rie van der Valk started a restaurant together in Voorschoten. Through hard work and a hospitable, homely approach, their own business became a success.
Largest hospitality group
In the years following the Second World War, they, together with their 11 children, built a number of restaurants. Meanwhile, the business has been expanded by their grandchildren and great-grandchildren into the largest hospitality group in the Netherlands, with 56 establishments and another 25 hotels in countries spread across the world.
Hospitality
Still, Martien and Rie's vision of hospitality is the foundation of the successful "Van der Valk formula". Their attitude and entrepreneurial spirit serve as an example for younger generations of "Valks".
